Save Money And The Earth

We all like to do our bit for the Earth by recycling where we can. Using free cycling instead of throwing away household items and reusing plastic bags when we do our shopping is a great way to be eco friendly – and yet there is so much more that we could be doing.

Examples of this can include comparing the cheapest electric rates and trying to switch to a supplier with more green credentials as well as shopping around for other greener, cheaper types of fuel. Not only will any efforts you make to be green energy concious help to save the planet, it will also mean that you are a little better off financially too!

Some actions will pay for themselves and save money immediately whereas others take a little more time to recoup your investment. These actions are definately worth it in the end and it gives many people a great feeling to know that they are doing the best that they can to help save the environment.

Energy monitors, for example, are relatively inexpensive and if you fit one in the house you will be able to see exactly how much electricity you are using. This will hopefully be able to help you cut down consumption accordingly, thus you are paying for the actual monitor in no time at all.

More expensive, up-front purchases, such as lagging your loft or switching your car to a hybrid model, can take longer to pay off. But as long as you do your sums right and work out how much you will save compared to what you are paying now, then you will have a fixed return on an investment period to work with.
