The Light Is Green For Green Energy

As someone who likes to think they live in quite an eco friendly manner, I am currently toying with the idea of buying a hybrid car with some money I recently got from an old annuity . For some reason I still had that outdated image of a clunky and clumsy car that you had to plug in the electrics every night to charge and which would give up the ghost after a few miles.

Well, how wrong I was! Those dodgy prototypes have suddenly turned into sleek and covetable dream, with state-of-the-art illuminated dashboards tracing every minute of your journey. And what do they run on?

There is no electricity socket in sight and these hybrids are run on the greenest of fuels – petrol! Yes, petrol. An environmentally friendly car which uses petrol which seems like a contradiction in terms, I know.

These new hybrids have special batteries which generate electricity themselves when the car is being driven, so they in fact only use a tiny amount of petrol. You can see when it is charging and when it is using petrol via the snazzy dashboard and you can check at any one time how many miles per gallon you are using.

What is more, the interiors are quite frankly gorgeous and I would be proud to own such a car. Green energy is full of fascinating and wonderful surprises, so there is now no excuse for not being able to help the environment whilst still driving a petrol car!
